The Freight Coordinator will develop and operate our Domestic and Crossborder Freight service offerings. This individual will utilize their relationships, experience, problem solving, and analytical skills to help our customers. This position requires direct contact with our clients and our suppliers to ensure a high level of performance in the movement of goods through the supply chain. They will arrange outbound/inbound cargo shipments from start to finish, communicate with both internal and external customers, and investigate and resolve problem shipments. They will also support the department with freight management functions involving both import and export aspects of international transportation be it air, land or sea. This position provides solid resources to build, adhere, and deliver service to internal and external customers within the Livingston network. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate the routing of all shipments with approved carriers Timely preparation of rates and quotes for customers and internal personel Support the development of existing and new customers by working closely with your freight manager and the entire sales organization Collaborate and build relationships with customers, carriers, and agent representatives regarding all modes of transport products to strengthen service competitiveness Prepare all necessary shipping documentation related to bookings and process all documentation to clearing agents to include: (HAWB's, MAWB's, AES's, Manifest, Shipping Instructions, Haz Cargo Decl., Bill of Ladings, and Certificate of Origin, etc.) Dispatch pick-ups to authorized agents and drayage companies, shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, clearing agents, warehouses, and all other parties involved in the shipment Track and trace shipments, researching and resolving any issues regarding billing or shipping discrepancies, communicate timely correspondence back to both customers and vendors Act as a liaison with Custom Brokers and agents Support your branches quarterly metrics while obtaining if not exceeding your individual metrics Knowledge of company procedures and policies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Self-motivated, assertive, and responds to branch metrics Excellent Knowledge of Freight Forwarding and regulatory requirements with at least 1 year in industry. Reads, analyzes and interprets all regulations and procedures Manages complex transactional or emotional customer situations promptly and professionally Ability to work in a blended operations and customer development role Operations skills and experience in the trucking and freight forwarding industry Ability to negotiate rates in effort to route freight in the most cost effective manner Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities Contributes to building a positive team spirit and puts success of team above own interests Ability to read, write, and speak English and spanish fluently Qualifications: High school Diploma or GED Minimum of one year Forwarding Experience Detailed knowledge of operational procedures regarding air, ocean, import/export business Strong customer service, customer development, or business development experience Knowledge of state, federal, and international applicable laws and regulations i.e. customs, TSA, security, and all other import and export government agencies that regulate international trade Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and other spreadsheet applications JIL
