Job Description:

ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY:Responsible for the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment for the performance of all dynamic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Possess a positive and courteous attitude, and take the initative to go beyond what is expected in a teamwork environment.Must be able to be ON CALL when required of him/her.

  • Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's chart and previous examinations for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data at all times.
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images.
  • Must fill out proper study forms for each case.QualificationsEducation:
    • Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.
    • A minimum of two to three years of experience in an acute care environment is required.
      • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or registry eligible.
      • BLS Required
        • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
