Job Description:
Responsibilities
Responsible for the direction of the Physical Therapy Department.
Coordinates and supervises operations of the department,
administers physical agents prescribed by a referring physician.
Maintains performance improvement activities within the department
and participates in CQI activities. Assures competency of all
personnel. Assists in formulating, budget, evaluates department
performance versus budget and takes appropriate action to remain
within budget guidelines. Ensures that patient charges are accurate
and entered on a timely basis. Maintains efficient and effective
department operation while requiring compliance with all state,
federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.
Qualifications
Must have current Texas Physical Therapy License. Current CPR
Certification preferred, or will acquire on first 30 days of
employment.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Bachelor Degree program in
Physical Therapy. Master's degree preferred.
Three (3) or more years of previous experience in aspects of
rehabilitative medicine preferred. At least two (2) years
experience in management of rehabilitation services or related
department preferred.
Knowledge of physical medicine and physical therapy modalities.
Knowledge of disease processes and related causative factors.
Knowledge of benefits and values of rehabilitative medicine and
rehabilitative medicine agents. Knowledge of Infection Control and
related impact on rehabilitative medicine practice and equipment.
Provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
