Job Description:
SUMMARY
SUMMARY: To provide assistance and support without compensation to
hospice patient/family/hospice team. May attend IDT conferences as
appropriate. In Hebbronville, TX. -
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities: ---- Direct Patient Care: -o Provide
direct care/companionship to patient, reporting any changes to
hospice staff. -o Provide preparation of meals or assist with
household chores. -o Provide a clean, safe and comfortable patient
environment. -o Promote positive, supportive, respectful
communication and respite to patient/family. -o Provide an
environment which promotes respect for patient, privacy and
property. -
--- Administrative Support: -o Provide clerical support to office
staff. -o Participate in special projects/fund raisers. -
--- Professional Volunteer: -o Provide services according to the
rules and standard of practice of their respective disciplines.
---- Participates in the development and presentation of
educational programs as appropriate. ---- Fulfills additional
performance responsibilities as assigned and as necessary. -
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Supervisory Responsibility: -This position has no supervisory
responsibilities. - -Qualifications and Experience: ---- High
School Diploma, preferred. ---- Must be a responsible,
detail-oriented individual. - -
Experience: - ---- No experience is required. - - -Language skills:
---- Ability to read and write English. - ---- Basic computer
skills preferred. - -Licenses: ---- Valid State of Texas Driver's
License with good driving record. - -Physical Requirements: - ----
Use hands to grip or feel. ---- Reach with hands and arms. - ----
Occasionally required to bend, stoop and kneel. ---- Frequently
required to stand on one's feet for a long period of time. ----
Ability to deal effectively with stress. - -Working Conditions:
---- Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset clients, family
members, staff, visitors, etc. under all conditions/circumstances.
---- Ability to travel locally with some exposure to unpleasant
weather. ---- Requires working under some stressful conditions to
meet deadlines and patient needs, and to make quick decisions and
resource acquisition ---- May be exposed to infectious waste,
