Job Summary

This management position supervises Field Superintendents, Engineers and their subordinate employees engaged in developing, operating, and maintaining onshore oil and gas leases in order to lead the development and operation of an assigned district at maximum profitability levels. This position approves AFEs and engineering plans, formulates and administers district's capital expenditures and operating budgets, negotiates or approves contracts or agreements for well services, and is often final technical review and approval.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Oversees staff to ensure the team works together to reach the goals mandated by Executive Management
* Ensures the field staff conducts their operations with the utmost integrity towards all third parties and the environment, and holds all personnel accountable to conducting business in a manner that is representative of the core principles of Chesapeake
* Assigns specific tasks to individuals and teams, and ensures the work product is performed correctly and in a timely manner
* Works to provide adequate staffing for all areas of responsibility. Evaluate and make recommendations for staffing changes, including new hire recommendations and promotions
* Makes recommendations to corporate supervisors regarding step changes that can lead to maximizing efficiencies and minimizing waste
* Continuously monitors all field expenditures and ensure the staff is reviewing invoices for accuracy and compliance with bid terms
* Continuously works to drive down all G&A and capital expenditures
* Identifies opportunities to lower expenses and gain revenues within the region
* Delivers corporate communication messages to field staff
* Represents Chesapeake in the local community and ensures the corporate image is aligned with the core values specified by Chesapeake's Executive Management
* Performs all duties according to Chesapeake's HSER Guidelines
* Provides direct and indirect supervision of personel; participates in decisions involving hiring, promotion, compensation and termination of employment

Job Specific Skills

* Expert knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the operation and production of the oil and gas industry
* Expert knowledge of various down-hole operations, cost analysis and planning
* Advanced knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and the coordination of people and resources
* Ability to negotiate general contracts and bid opportunities with third parties
* Able to ensure all employees are operating within all Chesapeake, state, and federal guidelines, policies, and regulations

Education

* Minimum: High School Diploma
* Preferred: Bachelor's degree - from accredited university - Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) program
* Preferred: Other - Professional Engineer (PE) license

Experience

* Minimum: 12 - 15 years related work experience
